Soybeans, known as the "Golden Bean" of the 20th century, are the most important oil-seed crop in India. India is one of the largest producers and consumers of Soyabean in the world. It is extensively cultivated in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan, contributing to more than 70% of the total soybean production in India. Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh, Akola, Sangli, Nagpur in Maharashtra and Kota in Rajasthan are major trading centres in India.
